I have CBD! Now what?

You’ve acquired a CBD product and you’re ready to reap the benefits— now what? How much do you use? How should you be taking it?

This entirely depends on what you’re looking for. I’ll go through some of the most common therapeutic outcomes of CBD and how to use it to get there. 

Increasing Focus and Energy

Coffee isn’t the best way to get a burst of energy— in fact it’s responsible for a crash once the caffeine is all used up. Cannabidiol can be integrated into your morning routine to provide a long-lasting sense of focus and energy. It’s generally taken as an oil, starting with 0.25 mL in the morning and another dose early afternoon– increase in 0.25 mL increments as needed.

Regulating Bowel Movements

CBD is a powerful anti-inflammatory and regulatory agent in the gut (see our other articles!). For this reason, it can help put you at ease in the bathroom. Simply ingest CBD as an oil 3x a day at 0.5 mL or 0.75 mL.

Reducing Anxiety 

This is the most popular use of CBD— and is the most complex. An individual’s endocannabinoid system is as unique as a fingerprint, especially when it comes to regulating anxiety.

Generally, users take 0.25-0.5 mL of CBD oil 2-3x a day to begin, and increase their dose weekly. Continue to increase the dose until you feel that sensations of panic and urgency are muted. The key is to maximize the dose while maintaining your energy levels. High amounts of CBD can cause sedation due to its relaxing effects, so it’s important to pay attention to your body throughout this process.

Inhaling CBD through the use of pens, joints and vaporizers is a great way to manage bouts of anxiety attacks throughout the day. It works within minutes to help quiet the mind and decrease adrenaline and can last up to four hours.
